This exceptional George III silver cruet set by Paul Storr epitomizes the elegance of late 18th-century silverware. The ovoid tray features a gadrooned rim with extended shell repoussé terminals, resting on four intricately chased bracket feet. The reeded gallery is supported by tapering fluted legs terminating in lion's paw feet, while the seven reeded rings cradle the set’s components. Included are four silver-mounted cut glass oil and vinegar bottles, two soy bottles with diamond-cut stoppers and a mustard pot with a domed silver cover topped by a ball finial. The central standard, fitted with an angular handle, unites this remarkable ensemble.

The visual grandeur of this set lies in its meticulous detailing. The gadrooned edges, repoussé shell terminals and lion's paw feet are hallmarks of Storr’s refined neoclassical style. Paul Storr, revered as one of the greatest silversmiths in history, exemplified Georgian and Regency silver at its peak. Known for his neoclassical masterpieces, he also excelled in the earlier Rococo style. His work demonstrates unparalleled craftsmanship, blending artistic vision with technical precision. Storr’s pieces remain benchmarks of quality and are highly sought after by collectors and institutions worldwide. Additionally, this set was a part of the prestigious Red McCombs collection, which has been highly publicized and studied.
