Born in Conches-en-Ouche, Normandy in 1880, Décorchemont studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris under Henri Bergé. Inspired by ancient glasswork, he revived the intricate process of pâte-de-verre, where finely crushed glass is mixed with a binding agent to create molds, resulting in luminous, ethereal pieces. Décorchemont's work captivated collectors worldwide, earning him prestigious accolades such as the Legion of Honor. Today his work can be seen in important museum collections such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and his timeless creations endure as symbols of technical brilliance and artistic innovation.
