This magnificent silver creamer was crafted by the legendary patriot and silversmith, Paul Revere. A masterclass in refinement and elegance, the creamer's Baroque-style body is perfectly balanced by its scrolled handle and accented with delicate beading and gadrooning.

Commissioned by one of the most renowned families in American history, the Alden family, this creamer has incredible provenance. John Alden was one of the few single men aboard the Mayflower's maiden voyage to America, and he signed the Mayflower Compact in 1620. He later married Priscilla Mullins, the sole surviving member of her family after the first harsh winter at the Chesapeake Bay colony. Together, they became one of the most significant founding families of the colony. This creamer was gifted to their granddaughter, Abigail Alden, upon her marriage to Rev. Francis Winter on October 27, 1768, and has remained a cherished heirloom in the Alden family ever since.

Master silversmith Paul Revere Jr.'s enduring legacy goes beyond his midnight ride immortalized by Longfellow's famous poem, The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere. While his patriotic actions captivated the public imagination, his true genius manifested in his unparalleled silver works like this creamer. For over four decades, following the inheritance of his father's shop at age 19, Paul Revere Jr. created works that rivaled the finest European examples. Among colonial craftsmen, Revere stood alone in his ability to execute every aspect of production by hand—from the first silver ingot to the final engraving. Today, his masterpieces are preserved in the world's most important museum collections, including the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Yale Art Gallery.
