The tray is marked "EPNS," signifying the use of electroplated nickel silver.
Founded in Sheffield, Atkin Brothers was a prominent manufacturer of silver and silverplated wares from 1853 to 1958. Harry W. Atkin managed the firm’s operations in London, operating from Charterhouse Street, Holborn Circus, while Edward and Frank oversaw production at Truro Works in Sheffield. Renowned for their quality and versatility, Atkin Bros produced a wide array of items for the domestic and international markets. Their hallmark, a hand grasping plumes, became synonymous with excellence. This galleried waiter was also once part of the prestigious Red McCombs collection which has been highly publicized and studied.
