This exceptional silverplated turkey tray and cover set, crafted by James Dixon & Sons of Sheffield, epitomizes the elegance of Victorian and Edwardian dining traditions. The set features an oval tray with a raised rim, scroll handles and four scroll feet with shell-chased junctures. Its high-domed lid showcases a gadrooned rim and intricate repoussé lobing, culminating in an oval medallion topped with a foliate-chased finial handle. Inside, a pierced tree reservoir is designed to collect juices from roasted meats.

Founded in 1806, James Dixon & Sons was a prominent force in British silver manufacturing during the Industrial Revolution. Known for their innovation and exceptional craftsmanship, the firm became a leading producer of high-quality silver and silverplate items.
